Ann Marie Kurrasch Ann Marie Kurrasch

Ann Marie has been making music all her life. Uniquely gifted as an instrumentalist (she can play and has taught all the instruments), she has shared her love of music with people of all ages. "Music speaks to people in special ways and I want to reach people through my songs."

With degrees in Psychology, Education, and Composing she has a rare understanding of and sensitivity to people, and has written songs that touch others at their deepest level: tears at a wedding, joy at a reception, laughter at a retirement, and love at the singing of a lullaby to a newborn baby. Her music brings back these special feelings years after the moment itself.

She recently released her third album, Refreshing Rain. It has fifteen original compositions and each piece offers a peaceful, soothing, and meditative experience. It has been very well received and is noteworthy for its appeal by a broad age spectrum from newborns to geriatrics. She is pleased that it can provide a quiet calming in the midst of life's chaos.

As a commissioned and published composer, her original piece for Contrabassoon, "Ponderings from the Pond", is available on CD New Tunes for the Big Bassoon, published by Sue Nigro and available at Amazon.com. The score is published by and available for purchase from Jeanné, Inc.

Currently she continues to write songs for babies and clients and she contributes musical activities to the on-line site for senior activity directors Activity Connection. Ann Marie is a member of ASCAP and lives in the Los Angeles area with her husband, Richard, and their cute dog Barney.
